Sewing – or tailoring, as it is typically called in Uganda, is part of the vocational training we are offering at the school.  In addition to the sewing classes offered to the students as part of their curriculum, there have been programs offered to community members as well.

We have opted for treadle machines as they are widely used throughout the country, parts are available and the machines can easily be repaired.

PODA would like to continue to develop this program and create income generating projects that will allow it to eventually become self-sufficient.  More equipment and materials are required to get to this point.
